This bridge's pivoting movement is a must-see rarely found anywhere in the world,.

Ikujinakabashi Bridge

The bridge was the first pivoting type one ever built in Japan. It links the Ikuji district with the Kurobe fishing port, and when fishing boats are passing through, the bridge girder on one side rotates horizontally. The bridge was first built in the early Showa period to expand the Kurobe harbor. It initially used a powered raising and lowering mechanism, but this was later changed to the current pivoting system.

The pork raised with the famous local spring water is packed with savory flavor.

Kurobe Meisui Pork

Kurobe is known for its high-quality spring water. "Kurobe Meisui Pork" was developed by combining various superb breeds of Toyama Prefecture pigs, and the animals are raised with a diet containing unique elements such as Kurobe spring water and "bamboo vinegar", resulting in meat that's packed with savory flavor, soft, and juicy. The ready-to-eat "Kurobe Meisui Pork Curry" made with this meat makes the perfect souvenir.

Sweet and delicious, even when cold.

Kurobe Rice

In the fertile soil of the Kurobe River delta, this koshihikari rice is grown with high-quality Kurobe River water. In 2007, this rice was the first in Japan to receive approval for a regional collective trademark. The rice is glossy and sticky after cooking, with a strong sweetness to it. It's good when freshly-cooked as a matter of course, and also praised for being delicious when chilled.
